Constructed on the site of the former ‘Oriental City’ food court, the Bang Bang concept (translates as 'Good Good Oriental Food Hall') layers a contemporary filter over the Pan-Asian culinary experience. With up to 32 individual kiosks (set across 32,000 square feet), each unique in their offering, but homogenous in the overall stunning aesthetic, the scheme brings a stylish coherence to the hustle and bustle of an authentic street food experience and a melting pot of cuisines.
The design emphasis is on clean lines and Eastern minimalism, utilising robust natural materials (think timber and concrete) and a muted pallet that is peppered with the colours of the orient. The flagship restaurant, Chinatown's Golden Dragon, is situated on the ground floor and serves dim sum lunches, with a more extensive, traditional Chinese menu in the evenings. Also, expect an eclectic mix of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Vietnamese and Malaysian influences and cuisines, with seating for over 300 diners.
The venue is open all day from 11am until 10pm and is expected to open this summer.
