Our pick is the relaxed beachfront venue Plaj, which will be serving up a festive barbecue menu, with Dubai's winter sunshine and the pristine private beach of the Palm Jumeirah providing the ultimate backdrop. From AED 425 per person (soft drinks), going up to AED 755 with bubbly. 

Other options for Christmas brunch include a regal, elegant affair at the baroque-style Imperium restaurant which will offer an international buffet brunch (from AED 475 per person), and The Rib Room, where you can indulge in seasonal special dishes (from AED 445 per person). All three restaurants will also be offering lavish New Year's Eve experiences, incorporating a special fireworks display, prices start from AED 990 per person. Christmas Eve celebrations are also taking place at Imperium, with the festive dinner priced at AED 350 per person, including a glass of welcome bubbly. 

Even if you can't make it on the special days, you can get into the festive spirit all month at Sultan's Lounge, which is offering a Festive Afternoon Tea - the traditional high tea is enhanced with traditional treats for the season, and a life-sized gingerbread house providing an occassion-appropriate setting.
