Toro + Ko Brunch

Be transported straight to Barcelona at this modern tapas bar's take on Friday brunch.

With acclaimed chefs Ken Oringer and James Beard-winning Jamie Bissonnette's culinary muscle behind it, the Toro + Ko brand has already been making waves around the world, from Boston to Bangkok, and opened their Dubai outpost to much acclaim earlier this year. Now, the funky, hip restaurant which faithfully recreates that inimitable Barcelona vibe is taking Dubai's own brunch, and giving it a contemporary Spanish twist.

Brunch is served tableside in the upstairs lounge and terrace area, starting with an endless parade of pass-around cold and hot tapas items - highlights include an excellent tuna tartare with avocado; more-ish grilled corn with espelette aioli; chicken skewers; croquettes; and a gourmet take on patatas bravas - and charcuterie platters (no jamon though, sadly). Main courses of paella - you can choose from chicken, seafood, or a unique squid ink option - and grilled steak are served on order, although by this time, you're already bordering on a food coma alert situation, as the servings are generous to say the least! But, it's definitely worth saving space for the traditional desserts of churros, and a deliciously caramelised crema Catalana. You can wash it all down with sangria, or in true Dubai style, bubbly.

With smart, friendly service; an effortlessly stylish setting; and food that is on point, this new brunch may just be one of our favourites yet! Priced at AED 325 (soft drinks); AED 450 (Alcohol included); and AED 550 (including Champagne).
