Bryn Williams at Somerset House

Celebrated Welsh chef Bryn Williams first London restaurant in a decade, located in the renowned arts and cultural centre, Somerset House.

Bryn Williams at Somerset House offers modern British dining, serving seasonal dishes where - although not necessarily vegetarian  - the fruit and vegetable components taking centre stage. The Somerset House menu also has an aptly strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance - with a selection of well-excuted and dishes - including small plates, seasonal mains and signature fruit-heavy desserts - all built around three to four great ingredients on a plate.

The charming interiors of the restaurant (located in Somerset House’s South Wing) are by Rosendale Design - unite the building’s naval history and Georgian architecture with Bryn’s Welsh roots, resulting in a relaxed and contemporary feel - think Herringbone flooring, Welsh-printed upholstery with nautical details including wall lights made of Fresnel lenses from lighthouses and antique naval map drawers.

The restaurant is Williams’ second London opening, adding to a portfolio that includes Odette’s in Primrose Hill and Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias, a beach-front restaurant, café and bar on the North Wales coast.

Request a table in the last of the three connected dining rooms and specifically one of the window-side booth seats, which offer views across the terrace and on to the Thames.

Signature Dishes

Roast young broccoli with olive tapenade, sage beignet & scorched Cornish mackerel and char-grilled leeks, Burford Brown egg with morel mushroom; grilled cauliflower, golden raisin, capers & soft polenta and charred chicory salad with sour onions, smoked ricotta & rapeseed oil dressing.

Highlights

Displayed in the restaurant is artwork of Welsh fine art photographer, Allan Jenkins, whose photos have been displayed in galleries and museums all over the world. The artwork displayed is a mixture of work from his latest series – Studio Allotment and Root to Fruit – a selection of still life images of fruit and vegetables reflective of Bryn’s own focus on produce.
