Named after his French wife, this restaurant is clearly a very personal project for the award-winning chef (formerly of La Petite Maison, La Serre, and more recently, The Lighthouse and Izu Brasserie). And so, inspired by her memories of working in a bakery in northern France, it offers a fantastic selection of freshly baked breads, and homemade jams and spreads.
But the boulangerie offerings are not even half the story - the menu features a compact selection of French-Mediterranean dishes that are something of Izu's signature, from more-ish tarte flambées topped with sweet cherry tomatoes and smoky onions; to some of the creamiest burrata in town. Other food highlights include tuna carpaccio, grilled fish and meat dishes, plus fresh pastas. Wash it all down with regionally-inspired drinks and fine wines.
The setting is fittingly French, featuring monochromatic floor tiles, colourful open-shelf displays of ingredients and cooking accessories, coffered walls, and charming bistro chairs. Floor to ceiling windows flood the space with sunlight during the day, while the expansive outdoor terrace offer the perfect vantage point overlooking the club's lush greens. The relaxed vibe is complemented with on-point service.
