Songkran At Pai Thai

This award-winning Madinat Jumeirah restaurant is recreating a traditional experience for Thai New Year, from April 10-23.

Traditional festivities involve water fights et al, but in atmospheric Pai Thai these aqua activities take on a slighly more sophisticated hue. Lemongrass-scented water fountains, plus special themed décor such as Buddha statues, light installations, live entertainment of Thai dance shows, and special water rituals set the scene for partaking of the sharing set menu.

The festive delicacies include Chor Muang (purple-flower chicken dumplings with fried onions, peanuts and sweet chilli sauce); Pla Fu Yam Ma-Muang (crispy minced fish, sour mango salad, coriander, cashew nuts and lime sauce) and Thung Tong Sai Poo (crispy crab and prawns money bag with water chestnut, coriander and sweet chilli sauce); and Chu Chee Goong (crispy prawns, creamy red curry, ripe mangoes and kaffir lime leaves). There are delicious options for vegetarians too, such as Phad Nor Mai Fa Rang (wok-friend asparagus cooked with mushrooms, garlic, chilli and oyster sauce) while dessert includes a classic, Tim Krob (crispy water chestnut, sugar syrup, coconut milk and crushed ice).

The Songkran set menu is priced AED 280 per person (food only).
