Zela London

An Asian-Mediterranean fusion restaurant, originally from Ibiza, is now heading to London backed by tennis legend Rafael Nadal and football player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The kitchen is overseen by Ricardo Sanz, executive chef of the Michelin starred Kabuki group (with restaurants in Valencia, Madrid & Malaga), together with Manuel Campos Gaullar and Abel matutes, creators of the high-end Spanish restaurant concept Tatel - which has outposts in Madrid, Ibiza and Miami. Cristiano Ronaldo joined Rafa Nadal, Enrique Iglesias and Pau Gasol as partners of this international hospitality group.

Expect the dining space (as with the Ibiza outpost, pictured) to feature plenty of Indo-Chinese visual references - named after a butterfly subspecies that lives in the region - with plenty of decorative elements, a colonial-style trompe d’oeil mural and a vertical garden. The London restaurant is taking over from Cucina Asellin, in the ME London hotel.

Signature Dishes

Salmon Katsuo salad with tomato, burrata & TATEL EVOO; Tiradito of white fish a la Bilbaína – white fish with Bilbao style dressing; salmon “Hawaiian” poke with mango and avocado; Maguro Korokke – tuna croquette in sukiyaki sauce and Japanese A5 Wagyu Ishiaky cooked at the table.
