Caractère

The long awaited debut restaurant restaurant from Emily Roux, the third generation of the Roux dynasty to turn restaurateur.

Roux’s debut restaurant is a joint venture with her husband Diego Ferrari, the former head chef of Le Gavroche. Taking over the Bumpkin bistro on the corner of Ledbury Road in Notting Hill, the menu combines both Italian and French influence - incorporating both Roux and Ferrari’s expertise and heritage. The menu is divided into six character traits with up to three dishes to choose from in each section or opt for the tasting menu and choose a dish from each ‘trait’ for £78 or with matched wines for an additional £72.

Emily is the daughter of Michel and Giselle Roux. Her training began in 2010 where she worked in the kitchens of the Michelin starred La Table du Lancaster in Paris and then two of Alain Ducasse’s restaurants, La Trattoria and Le Louis XV at the Hotel de Paris, in Monaco. Emily then moved back to Paris, where she was Demi-chef de partie at Le 395 and became Junior Sous-Chef at Akrame. Since returning to London, she has been working as a consultant in the food industry. Open Tuesday to Saturday.

Signature Dishes
