If food presentation is half of the taste, Le Chique must be the most delicious of them all. The award-winning modern Mexican restaurant, spearheaded by Chef Jonatán Gómez Luna, serves an avante garde tasting menu that’s designed to challenge diners’ perceptions.

Traditional dishes are deconstructed and playfully reconstructed in a modern manner. As a result, not everything is what it seems. Bowls of pecan nuts are actually cleverly disguised balls of foie grass and flower pots of ‘mud’ are actually chocolate, while what looks like an ‘egg’ is a unique take on panucho, a Yucatán dish where black beans are wrapped in a tortilla. Even the drinks are special – a bite-sized snowball is actually a frozen Margarita Nitro.

Innovative, inventive and highly Instagrammable, it’s the closest you’ll get to Michelin-star presentation in Tulum.

“We go to great lengths to create a memorable experience for our guests through bold, fun, cutting-edge cuisine using the most innovative cooking techniques and fresh and authentic Mexican ingredients,” Gómez Luna says.

It’s little wonder Le Chique was named one of the world’s top 50 restaurants by The Diners Club. The restaurant is also adult’s only, which is a good thing considering the epic tasting menu spans 20+ dishes. Our advice? Come hungry and prepare for a sensory overload. Don’t forget your camera.
