Soutine

An informal neighbourhood rendez-vous taking inspiration from the great boulevard cafés of Paris, from restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King.

Named after Chaïm Soutine whose Cooks, Waiters and Bellboy portraits recently showed at The Courtauld. Located in an impressive period building, the front room and pavement offers relaxed café and bar seating, leading to a slightly more formal space at the rear - design wise think “Colbert meets Fischer’s”. Foodwise - think French with the occasional Russian influence.

The restaurant design, led by Jeremy King and Shayne Brady of BradyWilliams, is heavily influenced by the area’s strong artistic heritage where the nearby St John’s Wood Art School, which subsequently became the Anglo-French Art Centre, was opened by returnees from the Parisian Art Community. Celebrating this history, the space evokes the Arts and Crafts Movement whilst taking visual cues from Edwardian architecture. Open daily from 8am, Soutine also offers breakfast and lunch, while an outdoor terrace with space for around 15 is a further nod to Soutine's Parisian inspiration.
