The cobbled courtyard space at the front of Andre Balazs’s Chiltern Firehouse now features a new Oyster and Champagne cart.

Chiltern Firehouse is still the hottest restaurant and celebrity hangout in London today, with dinner reservations notoriously hard to come by. Now you can head to the terrace (protected from street view by a wall and hornbeam hedge) and tuck in to freshly shucked oysters – serving up three different varieties a day, two British and one French (including Belon Natives, Maldon and Loch Ryan).

Head chef Nuno Mendes provides suitably interesting accompaniments, including house-made smokey and spicy Firehouse sauce and a Ponzu sauce made with a dashi stock, rice wine and vinegar. A decent selection of Champagne and vodkas are also available.

The cart is in situ until April, Wednesday to Friday, 12noon – 8.30pm and Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 8.30pm.
