Circolo Popolare by Big Mamma

Big Mamma are doubling down with a second site in Fitzrovia...

Following the opening of Gloria, the hit Italian trattoria in Shoreditch, Big Mamma Group are opening a second London restaurant, Circolo Popolare in Rathbone Square, Fitzrovia. While the vibe is set to differ from Gloria, Circolo is set to “bring Sicilian coast sunshine to the heart of Fitzrovia", with design features such as 20,000 bottles of spirits lining the walls, thousands of festoon lights on the ceiling and heavily planted looking to evoke the Sicilian coast. It also features a 60-seater outdoor terrace.

Expect a similar “over the top” menu ranging from small cicchetti plates to metre-long pizzas topped with Puglian burrata, large sheets of hankerchief-like sfoglia pasta served alla Norma-style, and dishes from a Sicilian grill, including “calamari e lemoni” and pork skewers al Arrabiata.
