Church & State

A modern neo-brasserie serving globally influenced French fare and drinks to match.

Restaurateur Bill Chait has been behind some of L.A.'s favorite restaurants, from République and Bestia to Rivera and Sotto. Next up is the long standing Church & State, housed in a former industrial building and which helped to define the dining scene in the Arts District. Expect a more modern look and feel with a sense of a classic neighborhood Parisian brasserie.

Heading up the kitchens is French-born chef David Feau - who was previously at The Royce in Pasadena and Wally’s in Beverly Hills. The menu and style has been inpired by the bistronomy movement - which has taken France by storm -  a reimagined approachable dining style with pared-back dining space, relaxed service, and an abiding focus on freshness and seasonality.
