Tsujita LA

Revered by foodies, Tsujita LA is a must visit for those that want to experience L.A.’s ramen noodle bowl fad.

There’s a ramen craze ongoing in Los Angeles: everyone has a favorite place to slurp rich broth and hand-made ramen noodles. On Sawtelle Boulevard (not far from UCLA and Century City), Tsujita is an outpost of the Tokyo original. There is almost always a wait at this eatery devoted to rich and savory tonkotsu (pork broth) and tsukemen (dipping noodles). Add ons include char siu pork slices (so tender!), extra seaweed, noodles, hard boiled eggs and scallions.

One of the few restaurants in L.A. that services night owls, Tsujita is open until 2 a.m. (last call 1:30 a.m.). If the restaurant is too busy (and can be, although waiting in line can be entertaining), across the street there is a second location (Tsjuita Annex at 2050 Sawtelle Blvd.) and down the block is Sushi Tsujita (opened in August 2014)—here you can devour sushi and artisan noodle ramen. Think a more authentic Wagamama, with a somewhat more limited menu, but absolutely yum.
