La Escollera

A family-run affair for over two decades, La Escollera remains a local’s favourite on the windy shores of Es Cavallet.

A iconic seafood restaurant with laid-back charm and old-school Spanish vibes with incredible views over the island of Formentera, Es Cavallet beach and the Mediterranean Sea. Nestled on Es Cavallet beach, right in the middle of the spectacular Ses Salines Natural Reserve with shaded wooden-decked terraces, tables in the sand and a chill out lounge area and cocktail bar surrounded by palm trees.

The most famous dish is Yaya’s (the Catalan word for granny) paella, which was the first thing on the menu when the restaurant initially opened its doors, and remains a favourite to this day. Another classic is the salt-baked sea bass, which is coated in a crust using the produce collected from the nearby salt flats. There are modern plates like sushi and Thai-style chicken.
