Café Gratitude in downtown’s Arts District is bright, open, fresh and accented in white—a reflection of the restaurant’s organic and all-plant based cuisine. Located on the ground floor of the sprawling, newly built One Santa Fe apartment complex, Café Gratitude brings a refreshing attitude to downtown via its philosophical minded approach. Plates come with a question: what are your grateful for? For some, the terrific pad thai kelp noodles (made from rehydrated seaweed), ancient grain flatbread and seasonal salads are reason enough to give thanks for dishes that pack a flavorful punch.
However, Café Gratitude is not without indulgences. The beer and wine list feature organic and natural wines plus beers brewed with organic hops like the UK’s Samuel Smith organic lager. Desserts are a revelation, even without dairy or egg as ingredients. While open, the outdoor patio is in its finishing stages with heat lamps and an awning to come; in the morning, there’s a grab-n-go option for Stumptown coffee drinks, fresh pressed juices and pastries.
