Din Tai Fung - New York

A New York outpost of the famous Chinese restaurant, bringing its famed xiao long bao to Midtown.

Din Tai Fung is a restaurant originating in Taiwan (since 1974) and famous (and very much loved) for their signature xiao long baos (steamed pork dumplings) - and their 18 intricate precise folds - as well as their heart-warming steamed chicken soup - and is actually named after the failed cooking-oil business which started the business.

This authentic Taiwanese restaurant has been making waves with branches throughout the world, including outposts in Australia, Hong Kong, London and Dubai and has an established reputation globally and been highly praised by the media including being selected as one of the top ten restaurants in the world by The New York Times.

The New York branch will occupy the retail space situated beneath the glass entry cube in the public plaza at the base of 1633 Broadway - in a space designed by David Rockwell. Expect a modern setting decked out in earthy tones and with the show kitchen taking centre stage.
