Located on the top two floors of an otherwise plain office building at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and La Cienega Blvd. (enter off La Cienega), E.P. & L.P. offers exciting cuisine (it calls itself an Asian Eating House) and on the roof, party people galore who come for the wide city views, chill atmosphere and curated soundtrack.

The top deck is lined with comfy cushioned seating: there’s a private bar area too. Downstairs, enter to find DJ turtables at the entrance and the busy open kitchen at one end. Pacific seafood, tropical fruits and a mélange of cuisines comes from rising star chef Louis Takaram. Cocktails come with a tropical bent but there’s grower champagne too and a sophisticated spirits program. Reservations recommended.
