Walking into Loosie Rouge feels like you've stepped into someone's home bar, where your friends are pouring drinks with a smile, or even a social club full of beautiful people. It's buzzing, cozy, and friendly. The four owners - Damien del Rio, Vincent Marino, Max Peskowitx and Garry Knopov of Four Happy Men Hospitality - are normally milling around, chatting to guests, and the rest of the service is completely on point. There's even a piano for when people want a sing-a-long.
The cocktails - many on draft making for fast service - are classic Nola creations, as well as some of their own - advised by Nico de Soto of ECC - such as the refreshing Loosie's Cup, with Pimms, Aquavit, lemon, grapefruit, rhubarb, cucumber, celery bitters and a ginger ale top - a perfect summer drink.
Around the corner, is the newly opened Loosie's Kitchen, where the food takes its inspiration from around the globe, with a New Orleans edge. Chef Sean Scotese, winner of the Food Network competition show “Chopped", has created a delicious menu of blackened catfish lettuce wraps and shrimp po' boys. An indoors-outdoors space, it's all about the patio. Think hot Cali vibes and tropical holidays right in the heart of Williamsburg.
