The Leonora

Deep in the heart of Chelsea, this club may be small but it's perfectly-formed.

With space for just 150 people, The Leonora is intimate and cosy, the antithesis of a superclub, and describes itself as a member’s club/semi-private lounge, catering to tastemakers in the arts and entertainment community, including film, fashion, music, and the media.

Owner Noel Ashman has had great success with previous venues, including Veruka, The Plumm and NA, and has partnered up with other city notables such as photographer Patrick McMullan, actor Luis Guzman and rock producer Ross Robinson. The Leonora, he hopes, is a place where high-profile people can escape the glare of the paparazzi and cut loose.

Ashman’s business partner Michael Bregman has designed the interior, with the aim of evoking the decadent and risqué days of Weimar-era Berlin, but with a modern slant. There is an antique wooden bar from the 1800s, deep red and purple leather banquettes, and a raised DJ booth and stage area.

Open from 8pm-4am, Wednesday – Saturday, there are DJs and live performances, many of them unannounced, bringing an element of surprise to the club.
