This place is a scene in the best possible way: a 6,000-square-foot bar spread over two terraces, with a pool, lounge, and restaurant.

From the Gerber Group - also responsible for similar hotspots such as Union Square’s Irvington and The Roof at Viceroy - Mr. Purple takes over the 15th floor of the also-new Hotel Indigo on Ludlow. 

The design is interesting with the back bar kept low, so it doesn't interupt the skyline views, and the interiors are more upscale Scandi loft apartment than flashy - though it's all about dipping a toe in that pool come summer with cocktail in hand. The bar is stocked with nano-batch spirits, wines from Long Island and beers from Brooklyn. With the party going until 4am, bar bites are needed and supplied from local businesses with corned beef from 2nd Ave Deli, bagels and lox from Russ & Daughters, and gelato from il laboratorio del gelato.
