National Sawdust

This artist-led, non-profit music venue is cutting-edge in many ways, and with names like James Murphy, Philip Glass and Paola Prestini on board, it has the music community of New York incredibly excited.

National Sawdust feels like a state-of-the art music hall with incredible acoustics somehow suspended inside an old 13,000-square-foot brick warehouse in the heart of Williamsburg. Named after the original factory in the building, it can accommodate 170 people seated and 350 standing.

Composer Paola Prestini is the creative and executive director, and with curators representing the vanguard of musical composers, performers, and producers whose influences span classical to rock, National Sawdust promises a program with a dizzying array of talent to come.

NB. The kitchen is helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef Patrick Connolly, so make that dinner and a concert, then.
