Rose Café

Rose Café may have been a local institution for more than three decades but it has been given a new lease of life by celebrated LA restaurateur Bill Chait and chef Jason Neroni.

The Rose Cafe in the heart of Venice includes both indoor and outdoor dining with a beer garden, a full market and bakery, Verve Coffee bar, and 40-foot bar with cocktails by Julian Cox and Nick Meyer. Interiors have retained elements of its former incarnation but new aspects such as textured tiles, rope, cement and white oak reflect the area’s now upmarket bohemian atmosphere.

Currently open for breakfast and lunch before dinner service starts in December, chef Neroni’s seasonal menu is focused on local Southern California cuisine with an international flavor inspired by his travels. The bakery, meanwhile, helmed by Jacob Fraijo and Christina Hanks (Quince/Cotogna in San Francisco), celebrates American classics and brings back to life some of the original Rose bakery favorites reinvented with modern techniques.
