The restaurant was forced to close after a fire caused by the wood-burning grill ripped through the property last June. Parts of the kitchen had to be repaired due to extensive water damage and due to licensing issues, the reopening - which was initially planned for September - had to be delayed.
During the restaurant's absence, a handful of its popular dishes were available at sister restaurant Santa Monica Yacht Club, on the same block. But now Tar & Roses is back with a bang.
Serving rustic American cuisine you can once again enjoy signature dishes like oxtail dumplings, crispy pig tails, wood-fired candied sweet potatoes, and spaghetti carbonara. Welcome back this Santa Monica stalwart.
