From entrepreneur Paul Hibler (the force behind Pitfire Pizza and Superba Snack Bar) comes a well-designed, airy cafe where the food and drinks are equal to the stylish interiors.

The emphasis here is on coffee and bread done really, really well. Despite its location on a busy Lincoln Boulevard corner, Superba Food + Bread is an oasis of fresh and flavorful indulgences. Pastries are top-notch (the pastry chef came from Michael Mina and that fine dining background is apparent in every bite); breakfast or brunch might be artisan toast (thick slabs of pain au levain with a choice of toppings like jam or cheesy scrambled eggs) or a kale, sausage and egg breakfast sandwich.

The restaurant’s design is comfortable and innovative: a wall of windows opens up to the west and much of the seating is outdoors. The kitchen and bakery are visible through floor-to-ceiling interior windows. This is the power breakfast spot for Silicon Beach entrepreneurs; free WiFi means you'll find creative types throughout the day and the late afternoon (3-5 p.m.) menu of upscale small bites is very satisfying.
