Pouring Ribbons

Former Death & Co bartender, Joaquin Simo, has created a cocktail paradise in the East Village.

Pouring Ribbons is a bar located on B and 14th in the East Village. Tucked above an unassuming shop, this vaguely Art Deco swanky lounge is the brain child of Joaquin Simo, who earned his stripes as a long time bartender at acclaimed Death & Co before opening this second floor cocktail haven.

The menu, which changed this week, reflects a diverse palette and gives something interesting for everyone. With a map at the front with an X and Y axis showing Spirituous vs Refreshing and Comforting vs Adventurous, it allows drinkers to help narrow down their choices and try new things. This new menu is themed after the great Silk Road and has a particular Asian angle on it, allowing flavors like ginger, thai basil, and baijiu to make appearances.

They also have a certain affinity for vintage spirits - Chartreuse in particular. If you want to geek out on the monk made liquid, these guys will happily talk your ear off with all the knowledge.
