Dromedary Bar is the latest Tiki spot to grace the shores of Brooklyn. Located on Irving Avenue, this tropical land of good drinks and better times are by Michael Lombardozzi, who got hooked into the island culture during his tenure at the classic romantic spot One If By Land, Two If By Sea. Having taught himself the ways of Tiki, he's been working on this Hawaiian-inspired Bushwick spot for nearly a year, making sure every detail was just how he wanted it.
Fun is certainly the name of the game here with drinks coming in kitschy mugs (one shaped like a Marlins head, for example), food incorporating island classics like Spam, and staff decked out in Hawaiian shirts. The food is by Brian Baskoff, who spent time over at Williamsburg joint St Anselm and consulted on Empire Biscuit before coming to put together this pan-Asian menu of treats. Be sure to check out the Spam Musubi Arancini.
They'll also be holding regular "Dinner & a Movie" nights, along with burlesque shows, brunch and other entertaining activities.
Silly fun and not notch booze.
