Tiltz Sports Bar & Arcade

With 50 arcade games, 15 TVs for watching sports and a whole lot of booze, plus an eye for looking after the neighbourhood, Tiltz will be a new center of funtimes on Flushing Ave in Bushwick.

The ménage à trois of booze, sports, and arcade has a long standing history, and now Bushwick is about to get it's own. Tiltz Sports Bar & Arcade will be opening up shop over on Flushing Ave next to the site of the former dive bar The Wreck Room, in a long space that previously housed a plumber's shop. With a wide selection of beer offerings and food - ranging from an indulgent bacon cheeseburger sandwiched between two glazed doughnuts to a whole vegan offer, they're really aiming to please everyone and become an easygoing neighbourhood spot.

Second generation Bushwick resident Gregg Licata is the man behind the new bar grew up with a deep love for sports and arcade games and so will be showcasing both here. He aims to have nearly 50 arcade games in house along with air hockey, darts, fooseball, and more along with 15 televisions for watching local and international important games. There are plans for old school movie nights to take place as well on the nights where the sports fields are dark.

This is not the first time this space has housed a bar: nearly 30 years ago, there was once "the longest bar in Bushwick" in the same location, which had cabaret nights along with their usual program. Licata hopes to return to the feel of a regulars spot and plans on opening up the arcade area to local school kids to use in the afternoons, especially during Little League season.

Tiltz plans to open this fall.
