Sawyer

Silver Lake’s restaurant scene just got hotter with the arrival of Sawyer, a seafood restaurant complete with garden patio.

Sawyer is a co-venture from restaurateur Beau Laughlin and executive chef Alex McWilliams, a former NYC chef who's worked under Tom Colicchio and José Andres. The menu includes cold and hot shareable plates, chilled seafood, and a variety of seasonal California-inspired large plates.

The restaurant on Sunset Boulevard, which seats 90 guests both inside and outside, features an airy garden atmosphere, striking tile work, butcher block countertops and tables, modern Windsor chairs, hand-painted wall accents, flowered wallpaper, floor-to-ceiling windows and a cozy back patio with olive and birch trees and a roaring fireplace.

In addition to week night dinner, Sawyer also serves brunch on weekends. Expect delights like sunny side hash with duck confit, root vegetable hash and smoky romesco sauce; Ricotta skillet cake with fresh berries and lemon honey; and chocolate croissant custard toast with burnt bananas, rosemary infused maple syrup and powdered demerara sugar.
