Alimento is a creative and soulful Italian restaurant from chef and owner Zach Pollack, who takes inspiration from Italy's regional traditions and gives them a California twist.

Located in the heart of Silver Lake, Alimento's menu features carefully sourced ingredients from local artisans and growers in a selection of delectable, colorful and inspired small plates, pastas, and large platters designed for sharing. 

Signature dishes include the innovative tortellini in brodo "al contrario", which reverses the classic Italian dish, with the pasta shells swimming in a rich, creamy sauce and filled with a delicious broth. Other must try dishes include the chicken liver crostone with black plum mostarda and the octopus with black barley, roasted carrots and red onion. 

The food is complemented by an eclectic wine list showcasing lesser-known varietals and hard-to-find wines from small producers as well as rotating selection of microbrews from the US and Italy. 

Alimento’s dining room juxtaposes both modern and rustic décor using re-purposed materials while a small patio outside offers al fresco dining.

Cracked Farro Salad with raw vegetables, dried tomatoes, young pecorino; Yellowtail Collar Affumicato with potatoes, capers, crema acida; Squid Ink Radiatori with red wine-braised squid, mussels, peas, dried tomato; Gnoc with oxtail, marrow, potato; and Bagna Caoda DOP with bread, vegetables, egg.
