P.Y.T.

Josef Centeno, who pretty much owns Downtown’s restaurant scene, has just launched a new vegetable-centric concept.

The celebrated chef behind Downtown restaurants Bäco Mercat, Orsa & Winston, Ledlow and Bar Ama, has opened P.Y.T. on Main Street. The new restaurant shares its space with Ledlow, which has been split into two and now comprises a 24-seat restaurant with a whiskey-oriented bar and a smaller menu.

Meanwhile P.Y.T. is a new restaurant located in the remainder of the Ledlow space. According to Centeno, the name could stand for “pretty young turnip” or “pretty yellow tomato” or “pass the yams, Ted”. We catch his drift – it’s all about vegetables here, with a menu of mostly plant-based dishes and a couple of meat and seafood dishes from specific producers available on a limited basis.
