Casa Apicii may be a total destination in its own right, with LA transplant chef Casey Lane keeping things tasty inside its 19th-century townhouse in Greenwich Village, but there's more than just delicious seasonal Italian fare.
Make your way upstairs where you'll find an almost hidden cocktail bar behind a striking red door, only marked out by a rabbit-shaped knocker, leaving plenty up for your imagination. Once inside, you'll find plenty of velvet chairs and couches, green bookcases, backgammon tables, and roaring fireplace all giving it the feeling of an old school, classic members club.
Fabio Raffaelli is the guy behind the drinks here, who put in time over at Daniel. The menu is filled with updated classics and new creations inspired by the gorgeous food, Chef Lane is preparing. Up here, you have an option of nibbles if you don't want to jump in on a table in the main dining room. Think about classic arancini and local charcuterie as perfect bar snacks to go with your French 75 and Old Fashioned.
Secluded dates, afterwork drinks and any given Wednesday.
