The Lately

Like a 1960s-chic lodge, this is two floors of comfortable drinking space in Chelsea with a side of awesome wallpaper.

When a bar pays as much attention to their wallpaper as this bi-level drinkery, you know that their attention to detail is probably dialled up to 11. Inspired by Mad Men and Twin Peaks, there is a wonderful amount of wood and retro-chic vibes going on that are perfect no matter what you're after. Looking to perch at the bar and keep things light? Head by early and bask in the natural sunlight for a while. Wanting to round up a couple friends? There are wooden booths perfect for that. Gathering a crew and want to cosy up next to a candle-filled fireplace? Take over their den area in the back.

The Lately comes to U from the guys of places such as Diamond Horseshoe and The Garret, so get ready to hang out for a while. The drinks are really the main event here with cocktails filled with ingredients that you know and love presented in slightly different ways such as the 'Jimmy Lives' with Jack Daniels, Punt e Mes, spiced kola cordial and lemon or the 'Mr & Mrs Kim' with Titos, cucumber, amani lime matcha cordial and ginger beer.

Whilst it might be a stretch to call them a restaurant, you can definitely stuff your face just fine with their bar snacks which go so far as to include a Jambon buerre sandwich, curried chicken skewers and a customizable shaken popcorn with flavours ranging from siracha to dill pickle and everything in-between.
