Lemon's at The Wythe Hotel

Housed in a former factory, the carefully-revamped property is home to industrial-chic rooms, a highly-rated restaurant, Reynards, and Lemon's (formerly The Ides), one of the most spectacular rooftop bars in the city.

Lemon's on the sixth floor, has a large outdoor terrace and floor to ceiling windows, so whatever the weather, you can enjoy unparalleled views straight across the East River to the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and Midtown Manhattan, as well as over the rapidly gentrifying neighbourhoods of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.

The door policy is unpretentious, but the bar (a nod to the European aperitivo culture) gets very busy on weekends and summer events. It's worth a wait to get up there though - watching the sun sink behind the Manhattan’s skyscrapers is nothing short of magical. The summery rooftop bar serves up fruity cocktails and spiked popsicles with nibbles (think grilled calamari and tuna carpaccio on cracker crisps) overseen by the acclaimed chefs behind Greenpoint's European-style bistro Chez Ma Tante.

The design builds off of the vibrant colors found in coastal Italy - think vintage Nectarine-hued damask wallpaper and sunset colored cushions on walnut wooden banquettes.

Lemon’s also features The Squeeze, a semi-private room adjacent to the main bar, a perfect setting for elegant cocktail receptions, buffet-style breakfasts, brunches, and lunches for up to 80 guests. The adjoining outdoor terrace overlooks Brooklyn rooftops, and weather permitting, allows guests to mingle al fresco.
