Due West

This new cocktail and wine bar in the heart of the West Village offers cocktails and a wine and beer program along with large and small plates.

Camilo Viafara is in charge of the wine and beer program and has focused on domestic and small producers, with wines from around the country. The beer list includes crafts, drafts and cans. Cocktails are curated by Jess Goldfarb and feature signature concoctions like the Old Diablo, with tequila, lager, grenadine, lime and a charred citrus salt rim, or draft cocktails such as the Green Witch, with gin, saffron, grapefruit and rosemary.

Chef Adabis Castro, formerly of Atrium Dumbo and Le Bilboquet, has designed a menu to complement the drinks. There’s a raw bar, featuring oysters and scallops, and bar snacks such as hot crab dip with cheddar cheese and smoked trout, Yukon potato bread and chickpea fritters, and the small plates include fried cauliflower, octopus, and beef tartare.

Located in the former Diablo Royale space, the interior features a walnut bar, with a gold-veined Calcutta marble base and custom shelving made of blackened steel. There’s a central table lit by a molten glass chandelier while the rest of the space features smaller marble tables, leather and velvet banquettes and black and brass stools.
