Checker Hall

A newcomer to the thriving Eastside dining scene, this Highland Park restaurant aims to redefine the experience of “dinner and a show.”

The sister restaurant to new Highland Park music venue Lodge Room, Checker Hall is located on the second floor of a restored historic building on Figueroa with balcony views of DTLA. The rustic Eastern Mediterranean menu from Chef Hovig Agop (ex-Cleo, Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, Nighthawk) includes dips, salads and small plates as well as dishes from the grill. Head Bartender Rebecca Smoyer DeLeon (formerly of Hutchinson Cocktails & Grill) has designed a creative cocktail menu loosely inspired by the venue’s rich history as a Masonic lodge, such as Hall Grog with light and dark navy-strength rums, orgeat, pineapple, passionfruit and honey.
