The Refinery Rooftop

The Refinery is part of the growing hotel scene in the old Garment District (along with The Ace and The NoMad), and its rooftop bar - with unsurpassed views of Bryant Park and the Empire State Building, just a couple of blocks away - is open all year round.

There are three distinct areas to the bar: a wooden indoor lounge with leather sofas and a fountain, a bar area with a retractable glass roof, and a wooden-decked outdoor patio, with garden furniture and even swings.

The rather creative cocktail list focuses on natural ingredients in unusual pairings, based on biochemistry, and is designed to cleanse your palate, shift your mood or evoke long-held memories. The Winter Tower Shandy, for example, a vodka cocktail topped with beer, is intended to stiulate and refresh, while the Bootleg Colada – with memory-evoking pomegranate and coconut – takes you and your mind on holiday.

Small plates include raw bar options, short rib, charcuterie and cheese.
