L’avant Comptoir du Marché

Renowned south-western French chef, Yves Camdeborde, fourth restaurant is a meat lover's heaven.

The house slogan here reads: In the kingdom of chefs, the pig is king. And you better believe it with dish choices suspended from hooks, not read on the menu. If U are a vegetarian this will not be your cup of tea, but for all connaisseurs carnivores this is a must.

There is a meddley of propositions on offer and they are all delightfully tasty, but do try the Bayonne ham croquettes and the pork ravioli - you won't be dissapointed. As for the main course, the pork shoulder confit (perfectly pink in the centre), accompanied by hay-baked new potatoes and anchovy butter, is particularly delicious.

If U are not famished then have some starters and a charcuterie board. The selection of meats here is renowned - so this is a great place to order charcuterie. Wash it all down with a lovely wine from independent producers in Loire Valley, such as a 2014 Montrieux.
