Bar Beau

This all-day café and cocktail bar in Williamsburg is the latest project from Claire Chan of the West Village café The Elk.

In the morning, there are fresh pastries from local Brooklyn producers such as Bien Cuit, Sans Bakery, Ovenly and Ra Bliss Balls on offer as well as coffee from Parlor Coffee.

The main menu comprises a selection of shareable plates inspired by global flavors. The kitchen is headed up by Gemma Kamin-Korn (previously of Lalito), with dishes including a charcuterie plate with sourdough; udon with shisho pesto and lemon; and asparagus with toasted bonito flakes and tonnato.

When it’s time to swap your cappuccino for something a bit stronger, beverage director Grant Wheeler (The Garrett, The Lately and Borrachito) has created a selection of culinary cocktails and twists on the classics. Try the So Sorry, with tequila, amaro, pineapple, yuzu habanero, shisho and lime and U won’t be sorry.
