Otoño

Former Racine chef Teresa Montaño is bringing progressive Spanish flavors to the Eastside, with her new restaurant in Highland Park.

Montaño has created a menu of Spanish-influenced dishes through an environmentally conscious focus on sustainable seafood and Los Angeles locally sourced ingredients. Her dishes cover a lot of the well-loved Spanish classics like pan con tomate, gambas a la planca, jamon iberico de bellota and conservas.

Cocktails come courtesy of bar director Josh Suchan, whose gin-forward list includes the loaded gin tonic with botanicals, lavender tonic, and Spanish gin. Meanwhile wine director Katie Putterlik focuses on natural wines produced in Spain.

Designer Ana Henton has created the interior which is divided into three distinct spaces: a lively, energetic bar near the front door; an elegant main dining room; and intimate space in the rear come together to bring urban rusticity with timeless sophistication. Contrasting the century-old brick, a graffiti mural by Spanish artists PichiAvo.
