Mace

The renowned East Village cocktail bar has relocated to a new, bigger home and is now for the first time serving a selection of bar snacks by chef Nick Sorrentino.

With names from behind the Boilermarker, Experimental Cocktail Club and Louis 649, Mace has outgrown its original space and moved to a bigger site.

Still in the same East Village neighborhood at 505 E. 12th St, the new location seats up to 61 guest. The interior resembles the old Mace, with spice jars, greenery and textured glass all round.

The drinks menu has been devised by Nico de Soto, one of the industry's most influential French bartenders, who has previously worked at the Experimental Cocktail Club (London, New York and Paris), amongst many other notable cocktail bars worldwide. The 12 cocktailsinclude the Pandan (Jamaican rum mixed with pandan leaves, milk, pineapple and lime), Lavendar (a base of brown butter and vanilla-infused cognac), and tequila spiced with everything from jalapeños to wasabi.

The new food menu is a nod to Italian cuisine, includingcharcuterie boards to share, as well as meatballs with ricotta and crostinis with marinated anchovy or butternut squash.

Its challenging mixological creatitvity has landed Mace in the World’s Best Bars list every year since opening. Now it's embarking on its next chapter.
