Surprisingly there are very few good ocean view restaurants in L.A. SALT, at the water’s edge within the freshly renovated Marina Del Rey Hotel, promises to change that. Set on a peninsula within L.A.’s largest pleasure craft marina, SALT is all day—great for jet lagged travellers (LAX airport is close) or for those looking to chill out on one of two outdoor patios or those who like to stargaze while sipping craft cocktails.
Chef Mark Gold (lastly of Eva) promises a menu of crowd favorites made with elevated ingredients. Lobster roll (pictured), Crab Louie and steak frites are among the choices. There’s bleached hardwood throughout the light and airy restaurant plus communal tables and firepits outside. Happy Hour (daily from 4 to 6:30 p.m.) is especially scenic with the sunset in view.
