The Lost Knight

The restaurant and bar offers British favorites paired with California craft beers and complex cocktails in trendy Echo Park.

There are few places in L.A. to grab a pint, watch football (soccer to U.S. fans) and choose between classic dishes like a Ploughman’s Lunch or lightly-battered fish ‘n' chips. The Lost Knight (owned by two ex pat Brits who hail from the Midlands) brings a traditional British menu with California twists to the heart of Echo Park’s bar and club scene. While a Newcastle or Boddingtons may be in order, instead the restaurant offers select California craft beers and cask ales on tap.

On weekend mornings a proper English breakfast is served during Premier League matches, with brunch available all day. Look for Sunday roasts—on Sunday nights, naturally—and curry and darts on Wednesdays. The look is a mix of industrial chic and country cottage: there are dark mahogany wood booths, blue-and-white patterned china as décor and the diffused light comes through the vintage stained glass windows. On the second floor, a private event space with its own bar and rooftop patio has opened.
