The Pavillon des Ibis located in Vésinet (outside Paris) has been one city culinary institution for a long time. Now, after a few dormant years, the restaurant has finally been re-opened under the leadership of Valérie Darnis, with the great chef Guy Martin heading the kitchen and artistic director Jérôme Faillant Dumas in charge of the homely style decor of the venue.
The à la carte menu here is simply a treat. Do try the chef's delectable fares such as betroot gazpacho with ice cream with sheep's yogurt, cream of asparagus and small pees, topped with an egg and Parmesan pieces. Then move on over to a filling and tasty main like the grilled beef filet with pepper sauce accompanied with apples, or the lighter but nevertheless comforting fish sole accompanied with seasonal vegetables and sabayon bergamot verbena.
A trip to Le Pavillon des Ibis feels like a visit to a friend's home in the countryside, so after your meal why not make a day of it and see what other amusing delights the region of Vésinet has to offer.
