Akrame has been top of the dining charts since it's young and talented chef Akrame Benallal was awarded a Michelin star within the restaurant's first year. This unusually quick award gained the venue a celebrity status like few others in the city.
Add to that the fact that chef Benallal worked with both Ferran Adrià and Pierre Gagnaire, and the difficulty in gaining a reservation at Akrame, and U will quickly discover why the restaurant's popularity mounts higher and higher with each passing year.
Forget the usual uptight Michelin starred atmosphere, the dining room here is small (seating only 20 people) the interior is modern with a striking series of large colour photographs of tattooed women, and the kitchen is open plan (so U can watch the chef busy himself in the kitchen as he prepares your fares).
Akrame serves an affordable three course menu at lunch, for those wishing to discover the cuisine without breaking the bank, but to really appreciate chef Benallal's inventive cooking it is worth opting for the four course or six course menu.
Don't be surprised if U received a 9.30am call, on the day of your reservation, from the maitre d’ to reconfirm your booking. A reservation at Akrame is quiet the hot commodity so a reconfirmation is only to be expected.
