L'Entente undoes the prejudice that the French have over British cuisine, in the most charming and delectable of ways - thanks to its irresistible marriage of traditional British cuisine and fresh French produce served under its signature cerulean awnings. Lovely and charming to almost a fault. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm, dotted with trendy Parisians and expats. And the cuisine and wine list are simply to die for.
The menu is devoted to greasy spoon classics elevated to the level of haute cuisine: think scotch quail eggs and piccalilli followed by sausage, mash, and onion gravy, with tart lemon posset and shortbread to finish. Yet, what is truly entertaining about this address is that it shows the prowess of the English cuisine, while giving a whimsical nod to French fare.
A very British affair
Terrine of rabbit and pork served as a starter with a perfect homemade chutney, toast and extra pickles. Two welsh ravigotants (English-style croque monsieur with cheddar, beer, English mustard and Worcestershire sauce).
Wonderful wine and whiskey edit.
A British address that is adored by locals and expats alike, delicious British menu with a french nod, wonderful attention to detail on all fares, great wine edit, British country club decor, friendly and attentive staff.
