The brainchild of nightclub entrepreneurs, André and Thierry Costes, the hip and arty hotel Hôtel Amour is home to one of the most pleasant brasseries in Paris.
There is a deliberate retro-chic atmosphere to Hôtel Amour restaurant with its vintage lights bought straight from the flea market, 70s style bar, wooden tables and chairs, brown leather booths, and its lush courtyard garden and fountain.
The cuisine, like the venue, has a retro feel with a dose of modern. Expect such traditional French fare as countryside terrine (€8), roasted chicken (€17) and steak tartare (€17), as well as more modern dishes as quinoa salad (€14), burrata and tomato (€10), or bacon cheeseburger. The restaurant also provides a great breakfast and brunch menu which draws a number of the fashion crowd for business meetings and brunches.
We recommend U start with dinner around 8 pm before the place gets too packed and then move on to drinks after dinner when the bar and the heated interior courtyard become the watering hall for Paris’s ‘it’ crowd.
And no worries if by the end U feel too tired or tipsy, Hôtel Amour is known for some of the most interesting and artsy hotel rooms in the city. Each of the hotel rooms is decorated and themed on love and eroticism by contemporary artists like Marc Newson, M&M, Stak, and Pierre Le Tan, among many others. Indeed, seven of the rooms contain artists installations and two come with their own private bar and terrace, in case U feel like throwing your own after party.
