Brasserie Gallopin

Brasserie Gallopin is almost a landmark on its own, having been founded in 1876 Gustave Gallopin, now over a century later the venue has received a much needed face lift while still respecting and retaining its true to its origins and history.

The venue was resurrected by Mathieu Bucher, the son of the great French restorer Jean-Paul Bucher. Now, this brewery/brassery is riding high on success during a time when most other venues of its kind are becoming more and more extinct.

We love such simple yet tantalising dishes as eggs meurette au Fleurie (€13), six wild Burgundy snails (€11), the filets of herring with small rattes and red onions (€12) and most particularly the house special Belle Aurore, this pâté in a crust with foie gras, pork throat, Magret, guinea fowl enriched with blond jelly - a true must.

Whether you go there for a glass of wine and to admire the architecture of this unique venue or for a proper meal, one is for sure its well-worth the visit.
