Chef Wim Van Gorp's first restaurant 'Comme Chez Maman' has received a great deal of acclaim for its ability to take traditional 'motherly dishes' and convert them, with a bit of imagination from chef Van Gorp's travels and a great deal of his talent, to something both familiar and delightfully surprising.
His new restaurant, opened this month, combines that freshness and familiar cooking with fresh organic produce and an extra dose of modernity.
The bar at Wim à Table takes centre stage, boasting in a wonderful selection of wines both per glass and by the bottle. Although the cuisine is a masterfully orchestrated, the tapas sized fares seem to be more of an accompaniment for the wine, rather than the other way around.
Still, as they say, 'the best things come in small packages.' We love the daily changing menu, made with the fresh market produce of the day. And the best part, Wim à Table is more modern, lively and affordable than 'Comme Chez Maman'.
