Owned by the renowned Cotes brothers, the Matignon is one of Paris’s chicest restaurant and club venues.

Located just a few steps from the Champs‐Elysées, the Matignon is one of those ‘it’ Parisian places where one goes as much for the cuisine and ambiance, as to see and be seen. 

This trendy restaurant and club in the 8th arrondissement, which promotes itself as ‘a restaurant and playground’, was designed by the prolific French architect and designer Jacques Garcia. 

Garcia is the man responsible for such classics as Hôtel Métropole in Monte Carlo, Spice Market in NYC, as well as numerous others. In fact, the renowned architect was once quoted as saying that 50 million people ate at his restaurant and 5 million people slept at his hotels. He wasn’t bragging. 

From the exterior the Matignon may look unassuming, but walk through its doors and U will see what has the trendy locals, celebs, and jetsetters flocking to it time and time again. 

Upon entering, the Matignon cocoons U in a warm sea of golden and purple hues, cascading chandeliers, gold bullion walls, soft velvet armchairs and 17th century lanterns. Garcia knows how to make an impact. 

And then, of course, there is the cuisine, the menu may look French classic, but this is French classic with the right dab of delicacy, variety, class and attention to detail that helps it stand out from the crowd.

Appetizers range from such tempting options as Pata Negra Da Rosa to Alverta Imperial Caviar to soft boiled eggs with truffle. While the main course menu boasts such savoury fare as truffle risotto, spicy lobster pasta or stir fry foie gras, among many others. And for dessert? Well, the list has plenty on offer but we recommend the house’s special French Toast. 

After dinner, head downstairs to the Matignon club, renowned as one of the best nocturnal playgrounds in Paris. Indeed, throughout the year the venue hosts several lavish private parties for fashion and media brands. 

The Matignon is one of those one-stop shops where U may come in for an hour and easily spend the day.
